It’s been almost 2 weeks since the world found out that Kevin Spacey is an alleged pedophile. The repercussions of said discovery have shaken up every project Mr. Spacey was involved with. He was given the boot in House of Cards and production has halted while they figure out how to write him off. It is understandable that all his pending projects have been cancelled, including a much talked about Gore Vidal biopic at Netflix. What has come as a shocker and a completely unprecedented move is that, according to Deadline, Ridley Scott has decided to replace him with Christopher Plummer for his already finished film All The Money The World.
Scott did some reshoots of his film, which had already wrapped post-production, replacing all of the scenes that featured Spacey with Plummer for the role of J. Paul Getty. Getty was an American tycoon who had his grandson kidnapped and refused to pay the ransom. Plummer was Scott’s first choice for the role but the studio (Sony) insisted at the time that they go for “bigger name”.
All The Money In The World is still scheduled to hit theaters on December 22nd.
